Configuring Work Orders

Prev Next

Work Order management takes place in the DPS directly from the Action List widget through a new embedded panel, Work Orders.

Other than configure the Actions to let your DPS users manage Work Orders, you must:

  1. Place the Action List widget in a thing view, for instance, you can add the Maintenance tab.

  2. Configure the User Permissions:

    1. READ_WORK_ORDER: Required to display the Work Orders panel.

    2. WRITE_WORK_ORDER: Required to edit any work order property (e.g., Service ID, Transport document, Start/End date).

    3. WORK_ORDER_MANAGER: Required to change the Work Order status, including APPROVED or REJECTED.
Generally, this permission is assigned to Service Managers.

    4. WORK_ORDER_EXECUTOR: Required to change the Work Order status to EXECUTION and COMPLETED.
Generally, this permission is assigned to Technicians.

The Work Orders section is only visible to users having the READ_WORK_ORDER permission.
When entering the details of a Work Order to change any property, the WRITE_WORK_ORDER permission is required.

Note that the Work Orders panel is present only when in the context of a thing. If the Action List is placed in a general page, the panel won’t be displayed.

Work Order Settings

In the Console Actions page, by clicking on the Work Order Settings link present in the page footer, you can configure some options related to Work Order management.

Work Order Report

In the Report section you can configure how the PDF report is generated for completed work orders.

  • Cover Template: The template you can use to customize the PDF cover page.

  • Main Details Template: The template generating the PDF fragment displaying the machine details.

  • File Name: The placeholder-based text to be used as a file name when generating PDF reports.

  • Include notes: If selected, the report will include not only the actions but also the technician’s notes.

  • Include spare parts: If selected, in the report a list of all spare parts referenced by performed actions will be included.
