Data Management for Customers

To be compliant with the EU Data Act, in the customer view, you will find the predefined page Data Management, which is located in the User menu (top left).
The page is visible to users with the ACCOUNT_ADMINISTRATOR permission.

This page is available by default in new projects, but you need to add it to existing ones. You can do it from the editing page of the Customer View.
If you have already created a page to allow users to export their data, we recommend replacing it with the new predefined page.

The page is organized into 3 main tabs.

Exports

In the Exports tab, DPS users can use the Data Export widget to export their products’ data.
The tab is visible to Customer users with the EXPORT_DATA permission.

Documentation

In the Documentation tab, DPS users can view the list of metrics they have been authorized to access.
The list can be filtered by Product Model or a text key, and for each metric, the list displays the name, group, type, unit, and technical description (accordion).

Data Sharing

In the Data Sharing tab, DPS users can generate Tokens to share data of a specific product with third parties (Data Recipients).  

To share data with a third party, the Customer user must click the Add Sharing Token button and select one of their products.

By confirming, a new token is created, and to complete the data sharing, the generated token must be sent to the desired Data Recipient contact (via e-mail, SMS, WhatsApp, or other).
The Data Recipient, from the same page, can register the Token and start accessing the product’s data.
