On the Service / Digital Services page, you can configure your digital offer for Customers and Partners (e.g., resellers, technical assistance centers).
For more details about the elements involved in the Subscription management, you can refer to the Subscription Main Concepts article.
The page is subdivided into two main tabs:
For Customers: Here, you can configure the Digital Services that your Customers can activate on their Things (products/machines).
For Partners: Here, you can configure the Digital Services that your Partners can activate on Things (products/machines) belonging to the managed Customers.
A Digital Service is described by these elements:
Activation Mode: Define how the subscriber (Customer or Partner) can activate Plans or Add-ons.
Plans: Define the plans that the subscribers can activate on their Things.
Plans are exclusive; this means only one Plan can be active at a time on the same thing.Add-ons: Define add-ons that the subscribers can activate on their Things.
Multiple add-ons can be activated on the same thing.Trial period: Defines the period of time during which subscribers can try advanced features for free.
Regions: Define groups of countries you can use to refine pricing and availability.

Note that the For Customers tab uses a dedicated Digital Services definition, which is completely separated from the one configured in the For Partners tab.
Activation Mode
Here you can define how your Customers/Partners will activate Plans and Add-ons.
Flat: Selected Plan and Add-ons are applied to all Things of a Customer or managed by a Partner.
By Thing: Customers and Partners will be able to choose which Things, among all active ones, they would like to make a specific Plan and Add-ons available.
The main difference is that By Thing allows the user to select for each Thing which Plan or Add-ons to activate. Instead, with Flat, the selected Plan or Add-ons are activated for all Things.
By choosing Flat, when a new Thing is activated, it is automatically associated with the Plan and Add-ons already subscribed to by other Things.

By clicking the edit pencil button, you can change the activation mode.
Plans
Here you can view the list of Plans. By default, you will find the Base plan, which is free of charge and cannot be deleted.
By clicking the edit pencil button, a new page allows you to edit Plans or create a new one.
A Plan is described by:
Name: The name uniquely identifying the plan in the system.
Label: The label that is displayed for the plan in the DPS.
Description: A single-line text describing the plan, which is visible to DPS users.
Features: The list of Features the plan activates once subscribed.
Default recurring fee: The default annual fee the subscriber must pay for each Thing to keep the plan active.
Other than the default fee, you specify the Availability and Pricing by Product Model and Segment.
Plans are organized in an ascending way, so the bottom one must be the richest (e.g., Base ā Silver ā> Gold), including all features.
Add-ons
Other than Plans, which are exclusive (one per thing), you can define Add-ons, which can be multiple per Thing.

An Add-on is described by:
Name: The name uniquely identifying the add-on in the system.
Label: The label that is displayed for the add-on in the DPS.
Description: A single-line text describing the add-on, which is visible to DPS users.
Features: The list of Features the add-on activates once subscribed.
Default recurring fee: The default annual fee the subscriber must pay for each Thing to keep the add-on active.
Other than the default fee, you specify the Availability and Pricing by Product Model and Segment.
Trial period
To allow your users to try out all the features without paying for a limited period, you can activate the trial period by specifying the number of months it will remain active.
When a Customer/Partner activates their very first Thing, the richest plan (the bottom one) is activated along with all the available add-ons.
The trial can only be used once by a customer/partner. When the trial period expires, they will have to pay if they want to keep using the advanced features included in the various Plans or Add-ons.

Regions
Availability and Pricing segmentation are fundamental when your offer involves multiple products and is spread over multiple countries. You can use regions to define availability and custom prices per country.
A Region is described by:
Name: The name uniquely identifying the region in the system.
Label: The label displayed for the region in the DPS.
Countries: The list of countries the region applies to.
A country can be associated with only one region at a time.

Availability and Pricing Options
In each Plan or Add-on, by clicking the Availability and Pricing Options link, you can redefine the price for each Product Model and Segment (if defined).
Moreover, you can define whether the Plan or Add-on is available or not for a specific Product Model and Region (if defined).
