A Metric Set is a logical container that groups multiple metrics belonging to a connected product.
In the DPS, rather than handling each metric individually, metric sets allow metrics to be organised, managed, and consumed as a single unit.
This simplifies both data governance and access, particularly in connected products where a large number of metrics could be generated.
In the DPS, a metric set can be used to:
Simplify Data Export for users, allowing them to select metric sets to export rather than one metric at a time.
Grant third-party users (Data Recipients) access to the metrics included in the Raw Data metric set.
Metric Set Configuration
In the Console, when entering one of the metric definition pages (e.g., Raw Data, Computed Metrics, Insight Metrics), in the page footer, you can find the Metric Sets link.
In the Metric Sets page, you can view all the defined Metric Sets, modify, or delete them.

A new Metric Set can be added by clicking the Add Metric Set button.

A Metric Set is described by:
Name: This is the name that uniquely identifies the metric set.
Description: This is a short description providing basic information on the metric set.
Technical Description: The long description which provides technical information on the metric set.
Name and description are visible in the DPS, for instance, in the Data Export widget.
On the definition page of a metric, you can select the metric sets that include that metric.
In a Metric Set you can include any thing definition metric:
Raw Data Metric Set
To comply with the Data Act and allow third parties to access raw data of the connected product without exposing sensitive data (e.g., Insights), there is a predefined metric set called Raw Data.
The Raw Data Metric Set cannot be deleted, and automatically includes all metrics published by the connected product (Simple and BLOB metrics), in compliance with the requirements of the Data Act.
In the DPS, Data Recipient users can access only the data of metrics associated with the Raw Data metric set, while other user types can see any metric and metric set.
This ensures that all product-generated data is available, accessible, and exportable without restrictions, fulfilling regulatory obligations by design.
