Filters

In this section you can configure the set of filters that will be available in the Template Editor.

Please note that it is not mandatory to fill in this section, but is only necessary in case you want to select filters through the template editor. Without this part, the filters can be used, but must be edit them manually in the code view of the template editor.

By clicking on the Add Filter button you can define a new filter.

A filter is described by:

  • Name: the name of the filter which must be used into the template.
    The name must be also the same as defined in the Source Code section.

  • Label: the label that is visible in the Filter selection dialog of the template editor.

  • Description: the text describing the purpose of the filter, and visible in the Filter selection dialog of the template editor.

  • Category: a free name used to group similar filters in the Filter selection dialog of the template editor.

  • Input Types: the supported types of input values.
    It is used to facilitate the selection of the right filter according to the type of data to be formatted.

  • Output Type: the type of the filter result.
    It is used to facilitate the selection of the right filter according to the type of formatted data.

  • Unit Aware: if selected the filters is also responsible to print out the unit of measurement discarding the one specified on the metric or property.
