When configuring the DPS, it is very useful to be able to log in and impersonate a specific user of the DPS.
In this way it is possible to see exactly what a service technician, a back-office administrator, or end customer, for example, would see.
Instead of creating multiple accounts in the DPS, with the inconvenience of inventing test emails and passwords, in the Console there is a tool called User View.
On top of the page, you can find the Environment locker providing the information about the environment you are configuring.
By clicking on the avatar icon, a dialog will allow you to manage User Views, create a new one, and select a User View to navigate the DPS.
Edit a User View
A User View is described by a category (Organization, Partner or Customer) and a User Type to be impersonated.
Depending on the category, further context information must be specified:
Organization: allows you to impersonate an organization user; you must select an organization.
Partner: it allows impersonating a Partner user, and you must select a partner.
Customer: it allows impersonating a Customer user, and you must select a customer.
Optionally you can select whether to access the entire customer, or to a single location.
Navigate a User View
From the User Views panel, you can select a User View to browse and click on the Open icon.
A new user is created in the selected business entity in the DPS.
The new user is automatically logged in as a normal user, and a new browser tab is opened on the DPS being configured.
After 6 hours, users created from a User View are automatically deleted.
The temporary user can be recognized by its alphanumeric e-mail address.
