# What is a PSS (Product-Service System)?

A product-service system (PSS) is an integrated combination of products and services to be jointly capable of fulfilling specific customer needs.

A PSS is what a manufacturing company offers its customers when it undertakes a servitization journey and starts implementing a service-based business model.

When harnessing data and digital capabilities, a PSS is supported by a {{glossary.DPS system}}.
